Review: AGGM Roadshow

Under the motto “stay in touch with gas”, we have been travelling throughout Austria over the past few months – with a clear objective: to strengthen personal dialogue at a working level, deepen mutual understanding and promote sustainable cooperation between gas distribution network operators. The final stop of our AGGM Roadshow in Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein marked the conclusion of an intensive and substantive tour of Austria.

The most remarkable highlight of our tour for us: we reached every (!) gas distribution network operator in Austria in person. The finale even took us across the border to Liechtenstein, where we were guests at Liechtenstein Wärme, which we also support as market and distribution area managers.

Personal exchange as the key
Whether in Graz, Maria Enzersdorf, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Wels, Parndorf, Klagenfurt, Vienna, Bregenz or Vaduz – open, constructive dialogue was the focus everywhere. The discussions impressively demonstrated how valuable direct contact with network operators is for discussing common challenges in the energy sector and developing solutions.

Renewable gases as an indispensable building block
A central theme at every stop was the role of renewable gases in the future energy system. Biomethane and hydrogen were clearly highlighted as indispensable complements to electrification. Only through an integrated approach to molecules and electrons can a resilient, climate-neutral and affordable energy system emerge.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of clear, reliable framework conditions – such as through the amendment of the Gas and Hydrogen Industry Act (GWG) and a functional Renewable Gas Act (EGG). These are crucial for securing investment and enabling the ramp-up of biomethane and hydrogen projects.

Better together
The AGGM Roadshow has demonstrated once again that the energy transition is a collective endeavour. Only through close cooperation, continuous dialogue and mutual understanding can we actively shape Austria’s energy future. Or as our motto puts it: Together we are better.

Our first roadshow has come to an end. The drive, passion and willingness to engage in dialogue remain. We look forward to continuing on this path together – stay in touch with gas.
